Althea, the leading online store that caters most of our k-beauty needs, finally comes up with its own brand product. Starting off strong, they are introducing the Althea Petal Velvet Powder. According to Althea, this debuting beauty is made with micro-fine particles that minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines to reveal a flawless and petal-like complexion. Its translucent and perfecting qualities also create a satin finish that mattifies without dehydrating the skin. To be honest, I am not a loose powder user until this one. Ingredients: SILICA, MICA, VINYL DIMETHICONE/METHICONE SILSESQUIOXANE CROSSPOLYMER, DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, METHICONE, HIBISCUS SYRIACUS SEED EXTRACT, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, MALTODEXTRIN, FRAGRANCE

Size: 3g

Types: All skin types

Color: Translucent

Application: Pick up product with a brush or puff provided and gently sweep onto the skin.

What I like:

  • It’s lightweight and travel-wise.
  • Made from natural ingredients.
  • Just like its name, Althea, it smells like a fresh flower but is very gentle to those who have a sensitive nose.
  • Its staying power is amazing. Mine lasted the entire day so I really didn’t have to reapply.
  • It makes my skin looks bright and smooth.
  • The powder is finely milled and is velvety.
  • No breakouts, allergies or irritations.
  • Doesn’t create unpleasant white cast especially during flash photography.
  • It comes with a super soft puff. You can use a brush, though, depends on where you are comfortable.

What I don’t like:

  • It’s only 3G, too small for an everyday use.
  • It’s only available online.

Will I repurchase? Definitely, YES! I don’t wear makeup every day but using this powder to set my day cream and sunscreen is super amazing.  It’s only 210 php, around $4. You just have to ditch the right amount of powder to use and it will go a long way. Highly recommend to those who love using loose powder.

Have you tried Althea Velvet Powder already? Let me know in the comments below.

I admit I am pretty much good at going out bare face. Literally naked face since most of my time is spent preparing for my son’s stuff. And do not worry about it, it’s perfectly okay to not wear anything at all on the face except for a sunscreen when you’ll be exposed outside. Just smile and remember that confidence is the key. Anyway, I am sometimes (most of the time I mean), settled with just fixing my eyebrows and putting up a lipstick. I believe that I do not need to wear anything fancy because how you carry yourself will mostly define you.

It is normal for a woman like me to not get contented with just one shade of lipstick. I also like to look different each and every day even just through my lips. Here’s my three favorite shades (these are the only lipsticks I have at the moment, tbh! hahaha):

Estee Lauder Pure Color in Rose Envy Shimmer. Perfect for an everyday use. This can also be worn with any outfit I choose. It just doesn’t last very long as I thought a lippie should be. But I love the fact that it doesn’t dry my lips. This is also a good choice to achieve a kissable lips.
Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick in Caramel. For a minimal and not too obvious color, this makes it a lovely choice. This doesn’t blend well on my lips though, but when worn with a lip balm or any lip moisturizing makes a perfect no-occasion look.

Colour Collection High Definition Lipstick in Cinnamon Red. Fierce and a bit of seductive. This could make one a head-turner once applied perfectly. I love using this whenever I’m a little bit moody. Paired with a gloss will make an entire look perfect for a night-out.
P.S.: Sorry for the pixelated collage, only using mobile to take this photo.
How about you? Do you have favorite lipstick shades too? Comment them down below so I can check it out.
This is probably one of the many things I’d always do, writing a review on a product that I’ve been wanting to have for a long time. Yes, I never had any L’Oreal Paris products until this one arrived. Excited as I was after reading couple of testimonies online, I grabbed one for myself.
L’Oreal Paris Shine Caresse – ” Dazzling Shine Fresh Moisture Light-weight Lip Color”
– The 1st Lip Color to fuse with your lips: Rich defined color yet a barely-there lip sensation.
– Lips feel cocooned in a fresh, dewy sensation.
– The modern way to play your lip color.

“The next generation lip colour, that combines the texture and shine of a gloss with the long wear of a stain. Delivering a lasting colour with a subtle glossy shine.”
“The unique formula comprised of  30% water and 60% oil provides an exceptionally high level of moisture, allowing for 6hr hydration.
Concentrated soluble colour pigments create a subtle wet look with a weightless feeling on lips.”
The packaging itself is impressive. I love how the brush is being designed, it makes it a lot easier to apply. At first I wonder how many strokes I need to cover my entire lips, but taaa-daa, one swipe is actually good enough. Awesome! The stain gives you the cool feeling and moisturizes your lips. It has a strong fragrance which I somehow don’t like but I don’t mind. It also survives even after a  repetitive drinking and eating session I had.
I love the fact that it’s light-weight (not sticky on the lips) and gives you the glossy shine without really feeling anything wet. And since it contains water and oil, I bet there is no need to worry of getting dry/cracked lips. I’m impressed again that it only faded a little after long hours of wearing it, and it doesn’t even look ugly. I actually did not remove it even when I went to bed, and found out the next morning that it’s still visible 😀
Overall, this product is remarkable. I would highly recommend this. A bit pricey though, but it’s worth it!
Rating: 4/5
What’s your L’Oreal Paris Shine Caresse color? Mine is EVE. How about you?

Since I started doing my own make-up, I also started avoiding liquid eyeliner. Why? Because for heaven’s sake, I do not know how to apply it. Poor me! LOL. I’m really having hard time with it especially if I don’t get the right applicator. Anyhoo, I’ve read some blogs who reviewed about eyeliner pen and said to be a lot easier to control compare to the liquid eyeliner. Thanks God that there’s one available on the local market. I got this Waterproof Eyeliner Pen from In2It.

What the product claims:

  • Easy to apply and draw accurate eye-lines.
  • Waterproof and long wearing.
  • Quick Drying.
  • Smudge Resistant.
  • Easy to remove.
  • No need to sharpen.
  • No fragrance.

The FINE TIP fibre applicator it has, makes it easier to control. It really dries quickly, I think it takes less than a minute to do so. And it’s very black when applied. It actually feels like you’re using pen literally, though this one is for the eye-line.

I think among the cosmetics I bought so far, In2It has the cutest and lovable packaging ever. I love how they combined glitter gold and black with this. And you really wouldn’t know it’s an eyeliner pen if you’re not going to open the cap, because it looks like a gel pen used in offices. 😀
My Take:
I love the fact that it’s really easy to apply and dries quickly. Maybe this product is really for me, just maybe, since I am not into a liquid eyeliner. It’s either I’ll ask someone to apply it for me, or nothing at all. Their claim of being waterproof and long wearing are still yet to be proven. It actually didn’t last long when I used this. After a half day of wearing it, it’s gone though it didn’t smudge. I have to be kinda picky when using something on my eyes because I sweat a lot on that area. But it’s good that I found this, at least I can do something to add drama on my eyes aside from the eyeshadows. So I’m giving this 4/5.
How about you? Do you use Eyeliner Pen? Or prefer the liquid eyeliner instead?

Purchasing blushes seems a hard thing for me since most blushes don’t usually come out with the result that you want. I remember my cousin gave me one from IN2IT, it actually lasted for a year, but wasn’t able to buy the same kind of blush because I couldn’t find one on the local beauty stores here. That was already 2 years ago. But glad that I found one that will give me the same feeling, and Yes, from IN2IT! I have now to admit that I’m really obsessed with their blushes 🙂

 One thing that I don’t like about other blushes in town is that you have to reapply it after few hours. And if you don’t, your face will look pale! We don’t like that ladies, do we? But not with IN2IT Waterproof Blush Set. Yes, waterproof. Interesting right?
Took this photo after a long day last weekend, and yes, I used the blush on that day. Amazed that I don’t have to retouch despite the sweating moments *wink*! Happy that I still look blooming after the tiring day.
To know more about the gloss I used on the same day, I posted it ===> HERE!
The blush:
“MB 04 Sentiment”
With moisturizer wild mango, vitamin E and no fragrance.

Likes:
** Last long
** Survives your sweating moments
** Color wise
** Cute and easy to carry
** Waterproof
** It has Vitamin E
** No fragrance
Dislikes:
I would be biased if I’d say none. But actually there’s none except that it is a bit pricey for the poor me. LOL
Overall, I’m in love with this blush set. The price is I think worth it. You surely wouldn’t buy cheap ones but will give you the hassle of reapplying it from time to time. And I love the fact that it really stays on your cheeks despite your sweating moments. And it doesn’t have an itchy effect, so it’s a plus!
xoxo!

Last weekend I went to a beauty store to actually just look around and trying to see if I can find something that would help me pamper myself, but found something that evoked my interest to lip gloss. I’m not really an avid fan of lip gloss or lip sticks but this one made me want to try it.

I don’t really buy lipsticks or gloss for myself, if I have one that is because friends or family donated it. Hahaha! But when I found this Colourshine Lip Gloss from IN2IT and was able to talk to the sales agent, amazed as I was when she said this gloss last long, I handed it immediately to the cashier. And of course, I tried it on the same day.
The photo above was taken after a long day with my sister. Forgive me for the sweating face (hahahaha), I really intended to take it despite the haggard look so in that way to prove that the product I used on that day really is effective *wink*! And yes, the gloss survived!
For the blush that I used on this pic, I posted it ===> HERE!
I chose this color to actually look natural on me. Natural with shine! And I love it 🙂
Likes:
** Stays long
** Not so sticky and heavy
** It nourishes your lips
** Affordable
** The packing is cute and handy
Dislikes:
** Too hard to squeeze the bottle
** Difficulty in controlling the amount of gloss to come out since you can’t squeeze the bottle easily
Overall, I love this product since it is not that sticky compare to other gloss. Plus it last long and color wise. And don’t you love the applicator? It’s fabulous, isn’t it?
How about you? Do you use lip gloss? Tell me 🙂

Part of the every lives to most women is to wear make-up whenever we go out either to office, on date, or even on malls. I do wear make-ups too especially when I feel like I wanted to look good more than my ordinary days. But there are just days when I’d rather just put eye pencil to have more detailed eyes and simple look than using eye shadows. The question is, am I using the right pencil that would survive the entire day? The answer is, YES!
Today, I’m going to make a review on one of my two favorite eye pencil brands, Ever Bilena!

I’ve been using this kind of pencils from Ever Bilena since I started doing my own make-up thing-y! 😀
Here’s why:
There are actually lots of beauty brands on the local stores. Most are affordable and might give you a second thought on which brands to buy your product from. But I recommend buying these kind of pencils for so many reasons;
First, it is pocket friendly. 1 pencil cost you less than a hundred pesos! So that makes you actually paying for the quality not for the brand name.
Second, the texture of the white one is a bit waxy so you won’t have a problem layering it because it doesn’t drag on your skin or erase itself.
Third, it has a lasting power. It doesn’t fade easily and fast like other pencils are. You’ll wake up the next day and you’ll see it is still there 😀
Fourth, Fifth  reasons and so on are for you to find out…
But of course I won’t end this review without telling you what I love about this pencil so much. It doesn’t smear! Oh yes, even when you will cry or you have sweated a lot, it won’t fade. So this is best for those who have watery and sensitive eyes.
On the photo above, I tried to put water on the left to see how it is in case you have cried. LOL! And on the right, is what it looks like after wiping the water. See? It still looks good! Bravo!
Which means that you really don’t have to retouch and retouch all over again. With Ever Bilena, you are saved!
So here’s how I actually use the two pencils together 🙂
How about you? What pencils are you using? Tell me 🙂
xoxo!
After so many years of reading about BB Creams and all the promises it has with the world to make most of the women crazy about it, I have decided to join the rage. First, what is BB Cream? BB cream stands for blemish balm, blemish base or beauty balm. An all-in-one cosmetic facial product that can be used as primer, foundation, sunblock or moisturizer. It can be worn alone or under the powder, depending on the coverage one needs.
There are actually lots of BB Cream products in the market, but I decided to try the one that is available in my local stores and the one that is not heavy for my pocket. So, I picked Maybelline New York Clear Smooth BB Cream. What is actually catchy in the eye is the “8-in-1 Skin Transformer” you can see below the product name.

To give you an idea of what this BB Cream has, here’s what it has in the label:

Clear Smooth BB Cream is a multi-benefit product that combines the benefits of skin care, make-up, and sun block cream. It contains 8 healthy minerals that moisturize and protect skin while giving flawless, natural coverage.

The Benefits:
* MOISTURIZES – Oil-free formula keeps skin hydrated for 24 hours.
* BRIGHTENS – Reveals skin’s healthy glow.
* CLEARS – Reduces dark spots, redness, fine lines and wrinkles.
* REFINES – Reduces the appearance of pores.
* CONCEALS – Instantly hide flaws and imperfections.
* EVENS – Corrects uneven skin tone.
* SMOOTHENS – Makes skin smooth, soft, and supple.
* PROTECTS – SPF 26/PA+++ protects against harmful UVA and UVB rays.

What’s good with this cream is that it is very easy to blend. It doesn’t dry that fast on your face unlike other creams. And guess what, it really smoothens your skin. You can not just see the difference with the skin that has BB Cream and the one that doesn’t have, you can also feel that the cream really smoothens the skin.
Left: With BB Cream. Right: No BB Cream.
With BB Cream!
The cream also lightens spots on your skin. Concealer as it is. As for me, I don’t need to put powder above the cream since the result after applying it on my face is as good as I wanted it to be.
What I LIKE:
* No fragrance.
* Affordable (Cost less than half of other BB Creams)
* Available on local beauty stores
* No breakouts
* No irritations
* Easy to blend
* Feels light on the skin
* Has SPF 26
* Smoothens your skin even after you have just applied
* Moisturizes
* Perfectly matches my complexion 😀
What I DO NOT LIKE:
* Doesn’t have oil control. It makes your face shiny even an hour after you applied the cream.
* Not good for flash photography.
Will I buy again? MAYBE! This one actually works well with my skin tone. Really! And I’m loving it. I actually don’t mind like a hundred percent if it shines after few hours after applying. Or maybe I should try Maybelline’s Shine Free BB Cream before trying other BB Cream brands 😀

Should I recommend this? Of course! For those who are pocket wise then this is a good product for you. This is one a decent product. But I guess, every BB Cream is a must-try!
Have you tried this BB Cream? Tell me your thoughts about it 🙂
