There was a time when I found myself at rock bottom, feeling like I had nothing left. Life was heavy, and I wasn’t sure how to move forward. I felt so drained that all I could do was turn to prayer, reaching out with a heart full of hope and desperation.
In those quiet moments, my prayers felt like they were my last lifeline. I prayed hard, pouring out everything, and asking God for a way forward. And little by little, I started noticing small shifts. Doors that once seemed closed began to open in ways I hadn’t expected. People came into my life with opportunities or words of encouragement, and I found strength to keep going.
As the Bisaya saying goes, “Lihok tawo kay tabangan ko ikaw,” which translates to “Take action, and I will help you.” This phrase couldn’t be more true. Prayer was my anchor, but it was through my actions, however small, that God began to work. He provided the courage to take each step, no matter how hesitant, and with each step, He was there, guiding and supporting me.
I’ve come to see that God’s timing isn’t always what we expect, but it’s exactly what we need. He may not always provide in the way we imagine, but He answers prayers with love and wisdom, often guiding us to better paths or giving us what we need to grow. Sometimes, it’s a nudge toward patience; other times, it’s a clear direction.
Looking back, I realize that these moments of hardship taught me resilience and deepened my faith. They reminded me that God is always there, even in the darkest moments, ready to guide us if we lean on Him and take action in our own lives. Through every setback and victory, I can confidently say, “Che goes on,” with the faith that I am not walking alone.
So, if you’re reading this and going through a tough season, remember that God knows what you’re facing and has a way prepared for you. But sometimes, that way forward requires us to make the first move—to step forward in faith, knowing that when we do, God will walk with us every step of the way.
