Santacruzan sa Sugbo

I went to SM with my cousin to do some stuffs last Saturday and found out that the mall will have an event the next day so we went back to witness it. The event is called “Santacruzan sa Sugbu”. To those who don’t know what is that especially to foreign readers, here’s an idea of what a santacruzan is,
“The Santacruzan is a popular religious festival held in many towns and cities throughout the Philippines as the highlight of the month-long celebration of Flores de Mayo during the month of May. It is usually celebrated with a parade of decorated floats and elaborately dressed characters, representing various aspects of the Virgin Mary and other figures. The festival was introduced to the country during the Spanish period and continues to be celebrated by Filipinos all over the world.” (source: WIKIPILIPINAS)

Below are the photos I took during the event and sorry that not all are in good quality. I was not in the right place to take one, just braved to do so 😀 How I wish I have a better camera too 🙁 Anyway,  just click on the photo to view it in larger size. I hope you all like it.
Lots of pretty ladies right? *wink!
How about you? What is you Santacruzan experience?

  1. That sounds like a really interesting festival. I'm sure you had lots of fun! So someday in future when I'll visit the Phillipines, I'll make sure this festival is in my to-do list! 🙂

  2. It is Santacruzan month again in the Philippines. I love to watch girls in the parade dresses in beautiful gown escorted by boys.
